Sustainable development

The aim of the Sustainable Development Research Group is to provide a space and scientific framework for students of environmental policy research at the University of Pécs, to ensure the interdisciplinary nature of research and learning methods, the interoperability of different disciplines, the development of existing knowledge and the transfer of knowledge in the field.

Our main research areas:

  • environmental policy (Hungarian and international)
  • spatial and urban development
  • environmental law (national and international)
  • environmental industry
  • eco-marketing

One of the most important tools for achieving sustainable development is the development of effective environmental policies, which provide more forward-looking and transparent structures and facilitate the mapping of the ecological and social impacts of future economic and political processes. Environmental policy research has the potential to use and synthesise the results of different disciplines in the natural and social sciences, to compare analyses of complex economic and social structures, to explore interrelationships and to link interconnections.

Our main services:

  • dissemination of knowledge and information
  • publishing, writing papers
  • developing and analysing strategies, plans and programmes
  • organising conferences, training courses and lectures
  • developing and maintaining civil society relations
  • preparing tenders
