The Department of Cartography and Geoinformatics of the PTE TTK aims and mission is to combine cartography and astronomy-geography education and research with the possibilities offered by modern informatics. The changes in the approach of modern geography, the revolution in information technology and the renewal of research methodology provide the Department with new tools for teaching and research. The international network of our staff allows us to apply the latest research results in the field to practice and to transfer them to teaching. The exploitation of new challenges and opportunities offered by digital mapping and remote sensing is also a major focus of applied research at the Institute.
